Overview
The first project handed to me entirely during my internship at DizaynGrup: a bilingual corporate site gathering the holding’s companies, products, news and certificates under one roof. From design decisions to the content model, from the interface to release, I was the only developer on it.
On my own for the first time
Until then I had always been adding pieces to a structure that already existed. Here I started with an empty folder: the file layout, the component boundaries, how content would be stored and how pages would be split were all mine to decide.
What I learned in the first week was that deciding is more tiring than typing. I knew how to write a component; deciding whether that component should exist at all was new.
Because I paid the price of a badly-set structure inside the same project, the lesson stuck. It was the first time I watched an early decision spread as the content grew.
Explaining a holding structure
The hard part of a holding site is not describing products, it is describing structure. Visitors usually arrive looking for one company, yet they still need to come away with an impression of the whole group.
So navigation was built around "Companies". Each company appears on the homepage with its own identity, while the news section lets the holding speak in a single voice. Finding the balance between the two is the part of this project I spent most time on.
Rather than forcing visitors into a single story, I tried to build a structure where whichever door they came through, they would still land in the right place.
Certificates as proof
Product communication centred on SterilePipe, an antimicrobial pipe. A claim like "eliminates 99.9% of germs" has to stand next to laboratory documents.
So the hero shows the claim and the certificates together, with the analysis reports right beside the slogan. It looks like a design decision but it was really a trust decision: on a corporate site the strongest visual element is usually not a photograph but evidence.
Two languages, one content model
The site ships in Turkish and English. I set that up as part of the content model from the start rather than as a translation layer bolted on later, so every piece of content lives in both languages at once.
My habit of building with i18n from day one — including this portfolio — comes from here. I learned how expensive a second language is not while adding it, but when I realised I had modelled the first one wrongly.
